Lupine Solutions Corporation gets its name from the latin for ‘wolf’ (lupus) because we believe people are pack animals; the best solutions come from our pack–our Arizona community. The particular problem we are trying to solve here is unequal (even discriminatory) access to mental health care resources. We have a three-prong plan to do this, and believe each prong will slide into place in order of priority with adequate time and funding.
Mission Statement
Expanding knowledge of and access to quality mental health resources.
Our first priority is our Trollbridge Brigade, as we believe that effort will have the most immediate impact on disparate access. This operation puts boots on the ground to assist the consumer in finding the resources that too often evade them–without getting overwhelmed in the process (more info here).
Once the Brigade is up and running, Lupine Solutions hopes to implement a Cub’s Counsel to help educate our school-aged youth on the mental health resources available to them and their families at manageable cost to them. As we hope the Brigade will be made up of those who have been in (and through) the trenches themselves, we hope the Counsel will use a diverse group of youth leaders to help the adults in the room understand the challenges Arizona teens face today so we can work with providers to find appropriate services.
Finally, Lupine Solutions anticipates an enforcement wing made up of volunteer (or reduced price) attorneys and other professionals who can add leverage to our efforts to obtain equal access and treatment for all who could use it.1 Although we dare to hope we can ultimately do without this prong, Lupine Solutions aims to work in world as it exists rather than as we wish it were; practically, insurers and administrators need some convincing to do the right thing. All efforts by this wing will be on behalf of our community members seeking treatment, individually or as a class, and all proceeds or awards not delivered to those consumers will be put back into future legal or policy efforts (after reasonable professional compensation), consistent with our not-for-profit model.2
